Work for Review

Some of my old work from Animation Mentor. I still have a lot of work and tweaking to do on these pieces.

Assignment One of Session 3

Hey everyone
I've been terrible at keeping up with my blog. I just started session 3. This class will cover Introduction to Acting. My mentor is Jason Taylor. Hell ya!

Heres a little history on Jason:

Jason Taylor has been a professional animator for 10 years. He has a BFA and has worked on everything from commercials, game cinematics, DVD titles, short films, and features. He has worked for many companies including Reel FX and Blur Studio. While at Blur he worked as an animator on tons of cool projects including several for Disney, the Academy nominated short film “Gopher Broke,” and was an animation supervisor on Blur’s newest short film “A Gentlemen’s Duel.”

After leaving Blur, Jason has been working for various companies doing freelance character animation full-time. He is currently working at Blue Sky Studios on their next feature “Horton Hears A Who.”

For the first assignment we are to animate a simple scene that clearly displays two beats of animation. For example, going from a happy walk to an angry and aggressive run.

I decided to go with this a guy working very hard on some assignment of some sort and then finally finishes. As he relaxes he accidently spills his drink on the keyboard. All the hard work lost.

Here is my first pass at blocking. Hopefully it reads well to you. Let me know what you think. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
